The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, grace increased all the more.
By the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight.
Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, "The righteous man shall live by faith."
And the Law did not require faith.

But whatever was to my profit I now consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the Law, but the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ...
